Selling Cards……

I got an email today from my niece, Emma, who reckons I should sell my handmade cards online….. now this seed has been planted my mind was working overtime.  How/where/etc etc…

I have an Etsy account, but It’s not set up to sell things… the downfall there is that you have to list items in $ dollars.

I also opened up a Folksy account, but for some strange reason, I can’t for the life of me uploads any pictures.

My third option is Ebay.. yes I have an account, yes it is in full working order, it’s hooked up to Paypal to accept payments etc etc… great I thought, i’ll go for Ebay, stick one card on it and see what happens…

So there we have it… thanks to Emma, I have now listed a card on Ebay… which card?

This card 🙂 I made it last week for the Dawn McVey Colour Challenge…

Here is a link to ebay where my card is listed

Sending Warm Fuzzies..

It’s been an absolute age since I’ve made any cards, and thought it was high time I made some more….

I follow quite a few card making blogs, and over at Dawn McVey’s Blog she runs a weekly colour challenge… a perfect opportunity to get the creative juices flowing again 🙂

Here is the card I made …. the colours to be used are Chocolate, bright pink, cream and Kraft.

A Friend…..

I made this card for the Bitty Dots Challenge over at Nichole Heady’s Blog {Caputure the Moment} .. To celebrate the release of the new bitty dots range she is giving away the entire ribbon collection ~ an absolutely fabulous prize and to be eligible for a chance to win you have to design and submit a card… why not head over to her blog, link above and have a peek at this beautiful range of goodies 🙂

There is a lot of  lovely card making goodies at her shop Papertrey Ink and at great prices too!… Must see if they post/mail parcels all the way over to Scotland 🙂

Colour Inspiration No. 37

I have followed Kristina Werner’s Blog now for some time, this week I thought I would take the plunge and join in with her Weekly Colour Challenges…

The deal is you make a card or scrapbook layout with a colour combination that she  posts on her blog each week…  Here is my offering ….   🙂

as cute as a buttoncute-as-a-button

The crafty and card making side of my life has really taken off and has, started to take over my blog a bit… so I thought it might be a good idea to start a wee blog simply for all my crafty card making stuff.    I have spent the morning setting it up and sorting it out… if you fancied a wee peek, you can find it here..  🙂

Expecting a Baby Card

I made this card this morning, its for someone at work who is leaving soon to start her Maternity Leave, the baby is due sometime in May.

I made this card using the following : –

Pregnant Bella Stamp (many thanks to Pink Chocolate over on UK Scrappers for the stamped image swap)

Yellow Cardstock from the paper mill shop, with faux stitching, achieved by pricking holes around the outside edge of the card and then I used a coloured pencil to draw the stitches in.

I stamped out the corner of the card that the stamped image is on using a fiskars 3 in 1 stamp (hearts)

Some self adhesive pale yellow ribbon and a couple of American Crafts Greenhouse paper flowers with clear rhinestones in the centres.

Birthday Bottles & Glasses

I have spent this evening making several attempts at mens birthday cards, the pre-requisites… just a card for my husband.. i’ll let you choose (arghhh!)

So here are my attempts, I hope he likes wine lol….   wine-birthday.jpg

And another 2 just for good measure 🙂

and then I had a fiddle about with some small cuttlebug embossing folders and dies and made this..

and finally………………

Apologies for my squint pictures tonight, I was lacking space.. I have managed to cocoon myself into the desk, so much so I cant move and i’m surrounded by card making stuff and debris lol, i’m away to tidy it all up, dig myself out and go and have a nice cuppa 🙂

Happy Birthday Dad

I have only made one card today.. I’ve been busy in the kitchen baking, then I did a spot of tidying up..

I always find it kinda hard making cards for men, the creative juices always seem to flow with the girlie cards, but ask me to make a card for a man and I really have to rack my brain..

I had look around online for some inspiration and I think everyone else must be the same, there are hardly any out there!

Sooooo….. here is today’s effort, I still need to make another one (a husband birthday card) so will need to get my thinking cap on..

I made the above card yesterday, and it niggled away at me all night, there was something amiss and not right … so I slept on it and when I got up this morning I added 3 brads along the bottom, I’m happy enough with it now lol

What do you think?

Birthday Cards Galore…..

I have a day off on holiday from work today, stacks of cards on order, so thought what better a way to spend a morning than sitting at my craft workstation with the sun streaming in the window, making cards 🙂

I’ve got the cat lying on the far edge of my workstation and a springer spaniel (mits) at my feet, the birds are singing good style outside and its such a lovely sound to hear.

Here are the cards that I have made today..

This card is themed around Hibs football club, a small picture of the club mascot, with a few layers of clear embossing powder to give it some shine…the colour green running throughout with the DCWV Cardstock and the wee guy’s name and age cut out using the cricut machine.

This card is for a girl., and her brother wanted to give her a card themed around Celtic Football Club, so I managed to find and emblem, gave it several layers of embossing powder and mounted the pictures on circles cut out with the cricut, she will be 8 on her birthday so I built that in too and just so that it wasn’t too much OTT with the football stuff, I incorporated some flowers to surround the number 8.. I do hope she likes it.

Next on the agenda was this girlie pink card.. I cut out a 4.5  and a 3.5 inch flower on the cricut, the smaller flower I took one petal at a time, spread with pva glue and then encrusted the petals with clear rhinestones, I did one of the petals in self adhesive pink gemstones.  Then I added some ribbon, a pink striped Heidi Swapp chipboard, a couple of flower brads and I made up a wee tag with Happy Birthday on it.

Next was this card, its for someone at work who’s 50 on her next birthday, I still have to finish putting the happy birthday and her name on the plaque at the bottom of the card.

The card was made using a lovely white and silver backing paper, then I used a light pink shimer cardstock and ran it through the cuttlebug using the floral fantasy folder, a Heidi Swapp chipboard picture frame, a heidi swapp material flower and a yellow card for the centrepiece finishing it off with some lovely American Crafts Elements lush Pink Ribbon.
