I made the card above today to participate in the sugar nellie challenge over on the Sweet Sugar Challenge blog.    This is the first time i’ve joined in with something like this 🙂

The reason for joining in the challenge is was my daughter was on my laptop looking through crafty blogs whilst I was sitting making cards and she came across the above blog and said I should join in… so with my daughters help we chose some really nice papers and together we put this card together…

Soooo… the ingredients for this card are : –

Basic Cardstock from the paper mill shop for the card itself.

Tiny pink buttons from a papermania box set.

Tiny pink flowers are American Crafts Greenhouse pink paper flowers

Birthday Bottles & Glasses

I have spent this evening making several attempts at mens birthday cards, the pre-requisites… just a card for my husband.. i’ll let you choose (arghhh!)

So here are my attempts, I hope he likes wine lol….   wine-birthday.jpg

And another 2 just for good measure 🙂

and then I had a fiddle about with some small cuttlebug embossing folders and dies and made this..

and finally………………

Apologies for my squint pictures tonight, I was lacking space.. I have managed to cocoon myself into the desk, so much so I cant move and i’m surrounded by card making stuff and debris lol, i’m away to tidy it all up, dig myself out and go and have a nice cuppa 🙂

Birthday Cards Galore…..

I have a day off on holiday from work today, stacks of cards on order, so thought what better a way to spend a morning than sitting at my craft workstation with the sun streaming in the window, making cards 🙂

I’ve got the cat lying on the far edge of my workstation and a springer spaniel (mits) at my feet, the birds are singing good style outside and its such a lovely sound to hear.

Here are the cards that I have made today..

This card is themed around Hibs football club, a small picture of the club mascot, with a few layers of clear embossing powder to give it some shine…the colour green running throughout with the DCWV Cardstock and the wee guy’s name and age cut out using the cricut machine.

This card is for a girl., and her brother wanted to give her a card themed around Celtic Football Club, so I managed to find and emblem, gave it several layers of embossing powder and mounted the pictures on circles cut out with the cricut, she will be 8 on her birthday so I built that in too and just so that it wasn’t too much OTT with the football stuff, I incorporated some flowers to surround the number 8.. I do hope she likes it.

Next on the agenda was this girlie pink card.. I cut out a 4.5  and a 3.5 inch flower on the cricut, the smaller flower I took one petal at a time, spread with pva glue and then encrusted the petals with clear rhinestones, I did one of the petals in self adhesive pink gemstones.  Then I added some ribbon, a pink striped Heidi Swapp chipboard, a couple of flower brads and I made up a wee tag with Happy Birthday on it.

Next was this card, its for someone at work who’s 50 on her next birthday, I still have to finish putting the happy birthday and her name on the plaque at the bottom of the card.

The card was made using a lovely white and silver backing paper, then I used a light pink shimer cardstock and ran it through the cuttlebug using the floral fantasy folder, a Heidi Swapp chipboard picture frame, a heidi swapp material flower and a yellow card for the centrepiece finishing it off with some lovely American Crafts Elements lush Pink Ribbon.

90th Birthday Card

I’ve been making cards again this evening.

I was asked to make a card for a friend at works mum, who will be 90 at the weekend, if you have been following my blog you will remember last month I made a 90th birthday card for her dad too.

The theme for the card was .. cats or birds or flowers, but not pink, and a happy birthday mum on the front.

I used:

Basic cream card stock from the paper mill shop, the dimpled stuff

I got lovely daisy embossed card at the weekend so used this as the backing paper

A picture of a cat printed out onto canvass type cardstock

Some yellow ribbon

3 Velvet effect flowers from Maya Road and 3 different coloured small round brads from my stock.

I cut out a tag and the number 90 on the cricut machine, threaded some yellow ribbon through the top of the tag, stucj the 90 to the tag itself, then, using a glue pen and clear/white peewee glitters made the 90 sparkly.

Hope she likes it… will update tomorrow with the verdict.

Birthday Party Invite…

My daughter has been invited to her friends house for a birthday party today, and in true fashion only informed me about it last night at bedtime!

So this morning she asked me to make her a card for her friend, luckily she knew exactly what she wanted and sat beside me supervising its creation.

sooo… here’s what went into it..

 DCWV embossed flower card.

American Crafts Ribbon.. 2 shades

Backing paper and dress – Pebbles Inc happy Flower Line up paper.

3 small square metal pink brads

American Crafts Greenhouse small pink paper flower with a Paper Mania self adhesive star gem in the middle.

Small tag with sentiment printed and attached to the side of the dress topper.

Evening Glow ~ Birthday Card

Oh I got a parcel in the post today with some new cardmaking goodies that I ordered the other day…

In the parcel was a new Penny Black Stamp called Evening Glow, so I just had to make a card with it and the above card is the result… I can honestly say that I had loads of fun making this card tonight.. ok it took me an absolute age, because I made it up from scratch, but I love it and so does my daughter … result 🙂

Now… I used the following materials:

Card – Pink basic card stock that I got from the paper mill shop

Backing Paper : Happy Flower Line Up by Pebbles Inc

Layer on top of backing paper : Hanko Designs Tsumugi Cardstock in Soft Cherry

Green Strip across the middle of the card is Bazzill Cardstock in a kinda lime greeney colour.

3 x small gold Grad circles

Fuschia Pink ribbon (thats I bought at the weekend) and the light pink ribbon is American Crafts Elements.

Then we have a fuschia pink plain basic card mounted on foam pads

Then the Penny Black Stamp “Evening Glow” painted in with watercolour paints and her golden hair is a gold sparkling h2o’s paint pot.

Phew! there was a lot of bits n bobs on that card… enjoyed making it tho 🙂

Dolly Birthday Card

I have been making cards again tonight, The card above was out of the same set as the Jack in the box card I made the other week.   I like the way this one turned out and I used some of the ribbon that I bought at the wekend 🙂    The pink patchwork backing paper came in the kit, as did the dolly toppers.

This card was an order for someone at works granddaughter who will be 2.
